PRIVACY POLICY
What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on the site, place an order, enter a contest or sweepstakes, respond to a survey or communication such as e-mail, or participate in another site feature. When ordering or registering, we may ask you for your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously. We also collect information about gift recipients so that we can fulfill the gift purchase. The information we collect about gift recipients is not used for marketing purposes. Like many websites, we use "cookies" to enhance your experience and gather information about visitors and visits to our websites. Please refer to the "Do we use 'cookies'?" section below for information about cookies and how we use them.
How do we use your information?
We may use the information we collect from you when you register, purchase products, enter a contest or promotion, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways: To personalize your site experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested. To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests. To quickly process your transactions. To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.
How do we protect visitor information?
Comedy Connection's website is secured, and any information transmitted to our servers is encrypted, from the homepage through the entire shopping cart process to ensure that information shared with us is shared in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the Web page. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
Do we use "cookies"?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.
Analytics and advertising
On www.ricomedyconnection.com we use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, the Reddit pixel and the OpenAI (ChatGPT ads) pixel, loaded through Google Tag Manager. They use cookies and similar technology.
- Google Analytics shows us how the site is used: which pages are viewed, how visitors found us, and what kind of device and browser they use. The same Google tag also shares visits with Google Ads, so we can measure our Google ads and show ads to people who visited our site.
- The Meta pixel lets us measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show ads to people who visited our site.
- The Reddit pixel lets us measure our Reddit ads and show ads to people who visited our site.
- The OpenAI pixel lets us measure our ads in ChatGPT.
- When you view a show, open the ticket window, sign up for our emails or texts, join a waitlist or send the contact form, the site may tell these services that it happened (for example, which show). It doesn't send the words of your message.
- Google's, Meta's, Reddit's and OpenAI's tags also use automatic matching: when you type your email address, phone number or name into a form on our site, they may read it, scramble it into a code, and send that code to Google, Meta, Reddit or OpenAI so they can match your visit or purchase to your account there. This helps us measure our ads and show ads to people who visited our site.
- When you buy tickets in the ticket window on our site, we report the purchase to Google Analytics, Meta, Reddit and OpenAI: the order number, the amount, the show and the number of tickets. Our server also sends Meta and Reddit a copy of the purchase through their Conversions APIs, with your IP address (Reddit gets it scrambled into a code), your browser type, their own cookie IDs if your browser has them, and the email address you used for the order, scrambled into a code first, so each of them counts the sale once and can connect it to an ad and to your account there. We never send the email address itself, and the report to Google Analytics doesn't include it in any form. The purchase reports don't include your name or phone number.
- Tag Manager, and with it Google Analytics and the Meta, Reddit and OpenAI pixels, doesn't run on private pages: pages opened from the personal links in our emails and texts (such as unsubscribe or refund links), and the login, account and staff pages. If you arrive on one of those pages and click on to other pages of our site, it normally stays off. Logging out, or a page you reload or open afresh, can start it again, but it never learns which private page you came from. Those pages also keep their address to themselves: other pages, here or elsewhere, only learn that you came from our site, not from which page.
- Tickets are sold through our ticketing partner, Tixologi. Its ticket window runs its own analytics and advertising tools, under Tixologi's privacy policy.
How to opt out:
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google ads: change or turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center.
- Meta: in Facebook or Instagram, open your ad preferences and turn off ads based on activity from other businesses.

- Many advertising companies at once: the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices tool.
- Your browser: block or delete cookies in its settings, or use a private window. Some parts of the site may not work as well without cookies.
